who says boys don't cry?

Dear Blog,
This is just some cartoon I found by chance at this website called bztoons.com.
I think it's hilarious! I've never seen this one before, hehe. There are other funny ones too, you could go and check it out by clicking the link above. However, I'm not so sure about the cartoonist's obsession on aliens. It seems as though he enjoys cracking up alien jokes.
I wish I could start drawing again. But, when there's pen and paper...BLANK.

bittersweet symphony

Dear Blog,

No pressure? That's what they keep telling me.

Bite me. lol.

Hmmm...I feel guilty, for being too...you know what. But, it's best he knows my true colours now than later, right? I'm just a bit amazed at how he could stand me all this while.

Why can't I do the same?

It's like what Charlie told Bella, "sometimes... you gotta learn to love what's good for you"...or something like that.
Owh btw, I've got Longcase and Shortcase this week. Wish me luck! =S

shining new moon

Dear Blog,

Watched New Moon with H last night. He's got a friend working at GSC Pavilion and pulled a few strings so we ended up getting seats 4 rows from the back...for FREE! hehehe

Yes, I would have to agree with Jenna on this one. A 5 out of 5! But, most marks would have to go to Jacob and his HOT bod~ hahahaha! The dialogue and romance scenes...not so. Found it to be a bit cheesy sometimes.

OMG! Whenever he's on screen, all attention's towards his abs 70% of the time LOL.

Other than that, the action scenes are cool. I also love how they play slow-mo for the running scenes - makes you feel as though they're running real fast and how they disperse like how the characters in Dragon Ball do.

Btw, I'm not a fan of Bella and Edward. Never was, never will. I hated them since I read the sagas. I'm no Team Jacob, though I pity him for falling for Bella coz he's such a nice guy to be treated so badly.

Jasper and Alice all the way! Even though he only had a few scenes here, I still love him. Don't worry, he'll have plenty of screenplay in Eclipse, yes! Can't wait to see how they screen the flashbacks and the battle. That'll be awesome.

Ok. Back to New Moon.

I enjoyed the scene where the Volturi and Carlisle magically moved in the painting and transitioned to a flashback. I love the werewolf scenes too, especially if Jacob's in it LOL.

I will only talk about the characters instead of the movie itself, since, there isn't much to say. I prefer reading it than watching it. The whole movie lacked a lot of good scenes from the book. OK, so character-wise:

Bella - Looks really pretty, prettier than in Twilight. Though, I think she shouldn't have been becoz she's spose to be a pretty but plain-looking character
Edward - Looks like someone started working on his abs for this movie, lol. I think he's good looking especially when he wears a black coat over his black/dark blue shirt
Jacob - Hot, hot and owh yeah, HOT! haha. And he's so sweet =) Definitely met the change of character as in the book

the Cullens - Good looking as always. Though, Alice lost her bubbly-ness here. I miss her sense of humor. And, Jasper looks too evil when he should be "the one that looks like he's in pain all the time". S'aite, let's wait for Eclipse yeah Jasper? =) Not much to say thanks to the lack of screenplay

the Quileute tribe - shirtless? well, it's easier coz when they transform into a werewolf they won't have to ruin their shirts all the time LOL. They seem like a bunch-O people to hang with. But, didn't really get to see their close bonds, their brotherhood as in the book. It's only fair for them to shine this time =p

the Volturi - they seemed cool enough. Though they looked old, I imagined "ancient". The typical elders or royalty should be ancient looking. Other than that, comparing their scenes with the book...I lacked fear, when I should've been scared shitless. I wanted the Volturi to look so real, ancient and teeth-sinking scary!

Victoria and Laurent - I love her hair! And she looks scary enough. Laurent remains the same however, hehe.

I'm hoping that Eclipse would be better than this. Jasper, don't fail me! hehe

.team...err, Jasper~ l e n a.

when it starts, when will it end?

Dear Blog,

I'm there again. That point in my life where I feel so down, even an ant can step on me.

I woke up late. The first time EVER in O&G posting. today's ward round prolly started early..at 7.45-8.00am due to the many, many surgical appointments that needed to be done this morning. The docs split into 2, splitting the ward round into 2.

Had a teaching with Prof Za and Doc N. today, felt like I knew nothing about Gynae...coz I don't know anything about Gynae. Felt like the dumbest person on earth.

So, I friggin slept from 5-6pm til God knows what time late at night.

I woke up, my room was dark. Checked the time, it's late.

Went to the cafe, bought myself some nice coffee to drink, took a shower and stuff...and now, I'm blogging and eating bread for dinner.

I think I have to stay up tonight and read up on Gynae. I know nothing.

Time to shy away from this stupid world, again. People, just leave me alone for a while, k?

Dear Blog,

Get your ass off of that stupid laptop

Start taking care of the people around you

Do something useful once in a while

Stop blaming others, when your finger should be pointing at no one but yourself

Avoid getting offensive when people around you give advice

Lastly,

Get Well soon Tok Mum. Will be visiting you soon at PPUM, ok? InsyaAllah everything will be alright. Love you soooo very, very much.

when two colors meet

Dear Blog,

I just finished reading my friend, Cik Ain's blog a few minutes ago. I just realized, that I recently blogged a lot about medical things - my life during O&G posting and the doctors there.

How boring.

But, it's not boring, no, not to me. So if you guys think I'm showing off or I whine a lot, or...you know, whatever, I really couldn't care less. Why? Coz it's my blog and you're the one that's reading it in the first place.

So, to top it off, here's some more medical stories in O&G!!! Weeee....enjoy!

Like Cik Ain said, a mixture of emotions. Ones of sadness and happiness.

We just found out that my group - under Dr. Rahana, will be changing from Red Team, to the Orange Team. Following that news, I felt...very sad. Even though I should be happy becoz Orange Team is very lenient with only one Grand Ward round per week, which is on a Friday. Other days, you can just come to the ward late in the morning and not cover beds late at night. We all know how Red Team is with their compulsory, daily, early in the morning rounds.

However, I LOVE being busy! There goes the thrill in O&G =((( Nevermind, everything happens for a reason. And, I think this is a way God is telling me to make time to study. Why? bcoz.....

...My shortcase starts next week. Guess who I got as my examiner? Prof. Z! Hmmmm...Dr. Rahana said Prof. J is a silent killer (Coz one of my friends got him as an examiner and was very worried)..so, I joked "Prof. Z plak? Just a killer?"...that made her laugh, lol.

Now, from the stories I've heard about Prof. Z is, instead of testing us on only Obstetrics cases (like all other normal doctors with a right mind would do, lol. kidding), he will also test us on Gynaecology cases too. He'll definitely bring us to his clinic, and he'll just grab whatever cases he thinks appropriate for him to test us on.

Hmmm...but is it appropriate for us? =((((

Doc R reassured all of her "anak buah" (as she refers us to...that sometimes, when she's in a good mood), she said :

"it's ok. it doesn't matter who you get as an examiner or what cases you get tested on, at the end of the day, if your skills and techniques are correct, there's no reason for you to fail"

Righty-O doc! =) That made me realize that I should start palpating alotta Obs & Gynae cases soon.

So, I messaged my dear friend Masliyana Arip just now. She got Dr. Rahana (my supervisor), and I got hers (Prof. Z). I told her that I'll teach her the techniques that my doc's very particular about and vice versa.

We'll start attacking the patients' abdomens tomorrow at 3pm. ATTACK!!!!! hahaha..

Anyway, on call tonight. At the same time, gotta read up on Pregnancy-induced Hypertension coz Cik Ain will be presenting her longcase based on that. Good Luck Ain! I know you can do it! =))

I'm happy becoz...we're still under Doc R! Even though we're shifting teams, I'm so glad we still got one of the best docs there is! My group and I were planning to give her a good-bye gift during the 8th week (our last week in O&G) coz doc helped us a lot! I mean...all of us just feels so overwhelmed by how dedicated she is in helping us understand what O&G is all about. For that, thank you so much Doc R! We will miss you...(err..ok. this posting's not over yet Farah. get a frip, sheeesh!)

the food we eat, the books we read

Dear Blog,

I'm at KJ now. Had Mee Rojak for lunch from kedai mamak downstairs.

It's so weird that they don't have nasi goreng cina and nasi goreng paprik. Or is it that kedai mamaks don't actually have those kinda food?

I don't know. I rarely eat at mamak stalls.

THIS JUST IN...

Ritz is a smart lil sneaky-deaky lil bro.

He's having his SPM now, and he can't find the "mood" to study. He kept pacing in and out of his room, looking at what I'm doing and stuff. He's actually using that "no mood" card on me, since I usually use that lame-ass excuse to not study. Damn, I was actually giving him advice about studying and he ended up laughing saying "it's funny how you're saying all that, and you have your laptop in front of you, playing Rock Riot"

Sneaky-sneaky.

I felt bad. What a bad example. So, afterwards I went and took out my books and started studying some Obs and Gynae stuff...for him, lol. Later, he continued his studying...I think.

Mission accomplished! haha

a void

Dear Blog,

Hmmmm...come to think of it, looking at "the Son of Man" sorta gives me the creeps. He's just standing there, sorta peeping at you from behind the green apple. I should add another entry just to push that entry downwards, lol.

So, both case write-ups are done. Thank you so much Fatin and Assila for contributing alot. I'm so sorry I didn't help much...I'm such a lazy ass student. Anyway, all I have to do now is print it out, bind it, and submit by next Thursday...I hope Dr. Rahana's comment this time would be "good job!" (that is, very unlikely though lol)

She wants to meet up with us to discuss a bit about the partograms we submitted a week ago. She wasn't satisfied with how we did our reports. She even asked us, "you all ni paham ke tak partogram?"....errr...duh~. We told her we just didn't know what to explain, how to explain and...well...mostly not knowing what to explain I guess.

O&G posting's almost over. I'm kinda sad. I like this posting very, very much. Even though it's damn busy, I enjoy being on the go. I love how my time is always occupied with something to do at the ward, the clinic or at the labour room. I hate being idle. Being idle makes me...umm...idle-er.

The downside to that is, like I said before, I become ignorant to the whole world. I don't take note of my surroundings and whatever it is that's going on in this world, I become anti-social, I often don't reply text messages from people and messages at YM, I usually become too tired to even go out with friends and I often eat more now (damn!).

My life revolves around the hospital and the only thing I cherish outside the hospital is....my BED.

Is that what it's gonna be like in the future? Am I to be this ignorant, workaholic doctor who disregards everything else? Even her own family? Her friends?

Isn't that ridiculous?

But I do enjoy it. And for now, that's all that matters. It's thrilling, it's challenging and it keeps me going. I like it.

I uhhh...pushed him away.

He asked me out a couple of times since we went out and I pushed him away. He says he doesn't mind, but for how long? Can he stand my inconsistency? Will he be able to understand how much I enjoy being busy? Does he know how much I take pleasure in being independent and just having time for myself? I don't think he understands.

Kesian dia. Farah, you're such an idiot. He's so nice and you treat him badly. You complained last time about you know what, and now, there's someone there for you, and you PUSH him away?? You will die an old spinster, and everyone around you will be happily married with 5 children. All you will have...is cats. 5 old spinster cats that you dah sunat, just to ensure their fates are like yours. The difference is, they'll prolly die sooner than you do, and you'll still remain alone.

.spin me back, l e n a.

it's not simple

Dear Blog,

500 Days of Summer.

Interesting.

It is not meant literally as 500 days of the season summer, but the person herself, Summer Finn.

Or...

Possibly, how man perceives the excitement and enjoyment during that season, and how it slowly fades away once autumn approaches.

500 Days of summer...surely you'll get bored of not knowing what to do? I know I would.

This story tells a tale about a boy and a girl, but it really isn't a love story, yes, the narrator had warned me beforehand. I just thought that at least there might be some kind of illusive relationship that makes viewers want to believe in love.

Frankly, I hated Summer. I hated the fact that she was unsure of how she felt about Tom. About how she mislead him, when all he's ever done was care about her. She hurt him, definitely not intentionally, but hurt him she did.

I also hated the fact that, even though I knew how Summer felt about Tom, and vice versa, I somehow still wanted to believe that they still had a chance. Especially by the way they keep bumping into each other, as though it was fate.

There is no such thing as fate, that I believe. And thanks to this movie, I definitely don't disagree.

However, I don't blame Summer for being distant up to the end. If the feeling's not mutual, why bother, right? If only she realized it before Tom got in too deep, with someone so complex. Shouldn't she just push him away from the very start?

Kudos to Tom for persevering, even though the end result was still heartbreaking. He did get tired of the whole relationship in the end and tried to move on.

This is a heartbreaking story really. I felt pain til the very end.

Another thing to note, this movie is about reality. No matter how much you wanted both Summer and Tom to end up together, in the end, no one can control their own feelings. If it's not there, it's not there. Who wants to be cheated into believing that there is such a thing as happy endings when life really isn't about happy endings...it's about survival. And, I think in the end, Tom will do OK. He will survive. He had met Autumn, hadn't he?

If you want a tale about heartbreaks here's the film for you.

If you want to know how "reality bites", by all means, go for it.

7/10, for portraying all sorts of emotions - happiness, sadness, post-breakup depressions, moving-on and for grasping reality. Actors were good too, when they're happy, you feel on top of the world, but, when they're sad, you start blaming their faults. This movie really questions about how one is really sure about relationships. Will it last? Is there such a thing as forever?

Owh yeah, I do like how the director played with time, going to the past and present alternately. As though man really has the power to influence time for our own benefits. The graphics were neat too. Very subtle.

Other than that, this is a movie about art. You can't watch it with a straight eye. You have to really think about what's going on, postulate about what it means and identify the hidden messages underneath it all. I enjoyed watching it. There was one scene where Tom entered Summer's apartment for the first time, and the camera took a shot of a green apple on a bowler hat. I felt as though there was some kinda message there.

Why a hat and a green apple on top?

(this man is standing in front of a wall overlooking the sea, wearing a bowler hat and has a green apple in front of his face, partially hiding it from view. his left arm is bent backwards. you see an apple, you see a man's face. am I stating the obvious? or is there a hidden message somewhere?)

I looked it up, turns out it was intentional, as a reference to a famous painting named "The Son of Man" by Rene Magritte...an artist that was said to be Summer's favourite sometime in the movie. About the painting, Rene said:

At least it hides the face partly (one eye is partly visible). Well, so you have the apparent face, the apple, hiding the visible but hidden, the face of the person. It's something that happens constantly. Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see. There is an interest in that which is hidden and which the visible does not show us. This interest can take the form of a quite intense feeling , a sort of conflict, one might say, between the visible that is hidden and the visible that is present.

By this, you can't really understand what goes on in life. To see something and believing in it, or, to see something and understanding it...then only believing in it. Because, you can't always believe everything you see in life. I would apply this to meeting a stranger, one fine day.

.a quick thought, l e n a.

when the eyes won't budge

Dear Blog,

Gosh, penat dowh!

It's been 2 days already since I've started sleeping like around 11pm the day after my on call shifts. That is way too early. I've got case write-ups to do, topics to study, ward rounds to worry about...this is how I act after every on call? Stupid.

Was supposed to join Fatin & Assila last night to finish the case write-up, but I was too tired from running around the labour room that afternoon. There were alotta complicated deliveries that required specialists' intervention. One, by Dr. Nana. Two, by Dr. Mairin, Three and Four by Dr. Ong.

One patient was sent to the Operation Theatre after having failed her Induction of Labour (IOL).

One patient had twin pregnancies, but one of her twins were naught but flesh - no heart, no bones.

That's crazy really. I don't know what's gonna happen when InsyaAllah I become a houseman or registrar one day.

more input, hoorahh!

Dear Blog,

Holy crap. Rock Riot macam bangang. Why is it so lagging nowadays? I can't play a decent song without it being stuck. It's so frickin' annoying.

Grrrrr...!!!

Now i'm having a headache for swearing too much..lol. Dizzy, dizzy.

Or perhaps...I'm not feeling well?

The weather's pretty bad lately (wth? talking about the weather?? I sound like an old person...or, more like a person trying to create a conversation with someone new, but not knowing what to say)

It's always raining in the morning, evening and at night. Is there any time of the day that it's not gonna rain?

Anyway, today was hilarious. I've no patient to cover, I felt so calm and nerve-free. You could say today's an OK day. The cafe outside PPUKM is closed for renovations, therefore breakfast was eaten at the indoor cafe (note to self: it suckss there! it's more expensive and the food isn't all that great).

I bumped into Dr. Rahana while I was putting some mee hun on to my plate. I greeted her by saying "Doctor" while I nodded towards her..then I heard her tease:

"ni dah makan banyak ni, boleh lah present banyak-banyak ye nanti?".

I was like, owhh...sense of humour? She's in a good mood today. Wayyy cool!

I usually respond with silly stuff, you know, to joke around and lighten the mood. But, I dunno. I guess I was trying too hard to make sure I could maintain her mood this way I ended up saying something stupid. So, here's what I said:

"Owhh, tak boleh"

Doc was like..."hah? tak boleh?"

I replied, "sebab nanti kena rebut patient dengan orang lain"........brilliant Farah. What a dumb reply.

Then Doc was like "....ok". Then she split. LOL. That was funny. After that, I kept replaying that whole scene in my mind, thinking of better replies and stupid jokes that I should've said instead. I know it's silly, but I enjoy making people laugh. So when a joke of mine turns sour, or, stupid (pretty much)...I regret saying it and I try to come up with something funnier inside my head and imagine the outcome - whether they would react differently. LOL. OK, stop this nonsense already. Let bygones be bygones (i don't even know how to spell that, btw)

Owh yeah, my case presentation at the Obstetrics clinic just now was...again...silly. Even though I've presented like alotta times already, I have no idea why I still get nervous. I've done Physical Examination (PE) on patients pretty often, but my hands still shake when I do so. What's your problem Farah? You high on drugs or something? Or, maybe it was the nescafe I drank this morning? I usually get tremors after drinking 'em.

Right, before I go off..just wanna remind myself about the mistake I made during my PE previously. When looking for the fundal height, DON'T press too hard. You'll miss the correct estimation that way and end up measuring something wayyy below than what it's spose to be. Start laterally, gently and lightly work your way up to the fundus. Try it on patients at the ward, OK? Good Luck! =)

it's a twin thing

Dear Blog,

about to wrap up our YM conversation:

L: I love you so much twin sister!
L: awwww...I love you too sarah!
L: thanks for listening to me nonsense
L: =)

I felt all gooey and stuff when I heard that. It felt nice.

Btw, I was told that I looked like a boy. That's why my mom made me wear pink, and Sarah wore blue. She looked more like a girl than I did...how sad. hehe

I miss you so much!! =(

wild imaginations

Dear Blog, (warning: if you get scared easily, if you're alone in your room at night, if you have wild imaginations...don't read.)

I had a freaky-deeky nightmare last night. Just thinking about it gives me the creeps, blogging about it just makes me so paranoid, I can't stop overlooking my shoulder.

I don't remember where I was, or who I was with...but it was a Europe trip becoz I remember seeing small cars on the road and nicely built historical buildings.

We were on the streets, wanting to cross the road, waiting for the lights to turn green. One of the members of my party took a video of us waiting for the lights to turn green....the next thing I knew, she started to scream.

I was like, what the heck?

So that friend of mine said she saw a ghost. Again, I was like...what the heck? In friggin' broad daylight?

This I gotta see.

Another friend and I both took her phone and replayed the video.

Across the road, there was this big fly-over...or...a bridge, with 2 dome-shaped tunnels underneath facing our way. Between both tunnels situated a Y-shaped wall (connecting both dome tunnels together). The friend that screamed pointed at the wall, and told us to watch carefully.

As I watched, I saw nothing. Just a streetlamp right in front of the wall, highlighting it so anything near the wall could definitely be seen.

But, right after I blinked the first time...there it was. A friggin' woman in white with freakishly long black hair was leaning against the the upper segment of the wall. Now, "leaning against" is definitely an "exaggeration"...for she had no legs and for goodness sake, the wall was pretty high up for any normal human being to lean against, let alone for er...human beings with no legs? Definitely impossible.

Right after seeing that figure just floating there, it vanished. I remember seeing it sorta float away super damn fast! A split second, you would've missed it if you blinked or daydream.

And then...I woke up...scared outta my wits. My blanket...that I often kick towards the end of the bed during da mida-wida night, was sought after. I quickly hid underneath it...I was afraid if it wasn't my imagination that made me dream about that figure.

What if it was really here?

Anyway, my laptop was on the bed to my right. You know how some people prefer the lights off or on, and how some prefer to play music while they do work or even sleep? Well, I prefer to play a movie before I go to sleep to keep me company. Hearing the actors and actresses talk somehow makes me feel safe and not alone. I would just keep the movie play on and on and on until the morning after I wake up. So, after waking up from my nightmare...I cranked up the volume (The New Town was on) and tried to continue my sleep. It was 3.30am...still dark. Everyone's sound asleep.

During my shower, I kept staring at the window above the wall in our washroom. It was 6am...still dark.

Anything can be out there...lol.

Well, that's it for this entry. Just wanna share it with you, and sorta...express myself. I was dead on...scared shitless. I was hiding underneath my blanket for goodness sake! I don't remember doing that often..lol.

.who you gonna call? l e n a.

take the cab, get me NY

Dear Blog,

Just got back from Yellowcab with H. Yummy! Ate New York's finest...or something like that. D-lish! Heheh.

We arrived like around 9.30-ish, and talked and talked and talked til it was like almost 11pm already. I told him that I gotta go back coz I gotta go to the ward and check my bed to see if I've got a patient to be covered. So, reached PPUKM at around 11.30-ish..(I slept in the car on the way back tho, coz I was too tired! After my on call, went out with him straight..Sorry for dozing off during the ride back)

OK. Too sleepy to continue this entry. Maybe...err..next time?

btw, I hear my housemates whispering outside right now...which is weird coz they NEVER whisper. They're always so loud. Wonder what's going on? Could it be that they finally found out about...you know what? lol. Or is it bcoz of the sink being unable to drain? Well, THAT definitely ain't my fault. I don't wash things there. I only use it to brush my teeth and wash my face. So who clogged up the sink is their own damn business.

Anyway, sleep time!

.nigh night, l e n a.

razor blade!

Dear Blog, (my review. you must know how awesome this movie is!)

Yesterday, I went to watch Pisau Cukur with Mommy, Jenna and Ritz.

I couldn't wait! I was so excited! Why, you ask?

Coz the other day, Jenna and I watched Pisau Cukur : Di Sebalik Tabir on Astro Ria or something, and I found that I was firstly attracted to the fact that they had used green+blue screens, white cloud+blue sky backdrops and computer graphics instead of going on a real life cruise. I thought that that was very interesting and daring for them to pull-off. The cruise was definitely CG, but it wasn't half bad! Even though, initially in the movie I noticed that the seawater...wasn't moving, lol. I think that it was cool for the crew to film scenes at places that made it look as though they were on a cruise. Kudos to that!

Secondly...duh~ Maya Karin kott. She's like...my big sister, lol. (btw, she said hello to my cousin Adel 2 nights ago at Cuci the Musical. Unfair!! hehe)

The cast were an interesting match of people, with leading roles from Maya Karin, Fazura, Aaron Aziz, Eizlan Yusof and newcomer Redza Minhat (i love him! sooo cute! hehehe), to the rest of the members, Umie Aida, Sharifah Sofia, AND the special casts consisting of Afdlin Shauki, Norman KRU, Nabil, Rafidah (3R, script writer) & Kartini (3R), Yasmin Yusuff (she looks old already, lol), Elaine Pedley (the funny and witty dance instructor, who is really a famous dancer in real life) and more. Sorry if I dunno the rest.

Initially, I thought Pisau Cukur meant literally something about shaving. Then, I was told that it actually means "Gold Digger"...(heh...it doesn't even sound alike pun?).

So, basically, that's what the movie's all about...Gold Diggers. I can't really tell you what happened coz I'm afraid I might give away all the juicy details. But, let's just say this movie is packed with Romance, Comedy and...well, mystery-solving. 2 girls going on a cruise (Putri Duyung) to look for adventure. One, looking for a rich man to marry, the other, trying to solve a sudden murder case of a Dato' on board.

We should also give a hand to the script writers for making hilarious scripts that'll definitely be used by today's generation...and I quote "Ohhh, my Dior+Gucci+Prada+Coach+Louis Vuitton" and the famous "Panassss~".

The story line is also unique (had an unexpected twist in the mystery-solving), and the scenes were good in a way that it was not dragged on for a long period of time, preventing audiences from getting bored. I was never bored throughout the whole movie..coz it was that good. I was smiling all the way til the very end. Even though the camera angles lack variety, it was somewhat compensated by the great performances by the cast.

Kudos to both M.K. and Faz for their awesome performances and acting skills. They had a tough role to play, to act gedik but adorable at the same time...which is NOT easy to do. Coz most narrow-minded people would surely brand them as gedik. But, not this time. I think everyone would really like their dumb-blonde (as if they were blonde), all giggly, no care of the world, gold-digging roles. Instead of going, "eeee...gatal" people were actually rooting for them to successfully...er...dig gold? Also, Faz was really, really funny in this movie and she accomplished her nosey yet adventurous character while M.K. was the adorable, yet persevered "who wants to marry a millionaire" reject...lol. In the end, they were happy...and the audiences were happy =)
(watch to find out why!)

All in all, a very great movie! Good job Bernard Chauly (Director). I give it an 8/10 for a local movie. I wouldn't wanna compare it to Hollywood blockbusters, that would be so unfair, for the Malaysian Film Industry is definitely up and rising. Even though the CG wasn't top-notch, but hey, bila lagi nak try? Right? Good Job Malaysia! Malaysia BOLEH!! lol...I'm feeling so very patriotic at the moment =p

Whomever thinks that this movie isn't worth watching just becoz it's a "Malay" movie is at a loss. This movie is considered to be one of the best films locally made in Malaysian history. Support the local scenes! I am known to be the type of person that is choosy and hardly easily pleased, especially by silly local movies such as ones done by Senario (I think their jokes are as bad as a rotten egg + decayed flesh with maggots on the side and a glass full of pus). So, trust me when I say this movie is great =)

there is no title

Dear Blog,

I'm so damn tired!

Was on call last night, from 7pm to 7am today.
Didn't get much sleep at all. Didn't get to sit down. My shoes were uncomfortable so my feet and my legs hurt badly. And, the OT outfit was too flimsy to withstand the freezing air-cond temperature at the labour room.

I knew food and drinks would be scarce, therefore I restocked my body fat before heading to the labour room by eating Nasi Lemak in the morning and Nasi berlauk in the evening. I wasn't really that hungry til it was like about 4am. So, thank God for inventing Rocky (strawberry flavoured stick biscuits, yumm!). My colleagues and I pretty much munched on that the whole morning. Even Kak Nang (the houseman on call) took some Rocky sticks coz she was already getting hypoglycaemic (lacking sugar in the blood...for energy).

I got to conduct a birth delivery! It was tough and scary. And I had no experience in managing patients at the labour room while waiting for their cervical os to open wide. Kak Nang taught me how to put the Branula on the patient's hand, and another houseman on duty, Dr. Yap, reviewed my patient at 4am, and said that the patient was dehydrated. Boy, was she angry. Who wouldn't be? This labour! Of course you have to keep em hydrated! Aiyo, stupid Farah. She was experiencing some headches, wanting to faint. Doc found her to be rather tachycardic, but her blood pressure was normal. She was afebrile, but her urine ketone levels were a bit high (suggestive of dehydration in pregnant women). Doc told me to run the normal saline faster...so I had to constantly change the drip. Her urine output was less than 100mL, not good.

Dr. Yap also taught me how to do an in-out urinary catheterization properly. She was really nice, and friendly towards medical students.

So after my labour room on call, headed for the OT changing room, solat there, went to the ward at about 6.45am++, checked my patient's progress, followed the daily ward round with Dr. Lim, went to the lecture hall...unconsciously dozed off a bit during the lecture, went back to my room, watched Jane Austen's Book Club on my laptop, had a short nap, woke up and went for another lecture, headed back to the ward, found out my patient was discharged, but another patient already occupied the bed, gotta cover it again tonight.

Notice I didn't mention anything about food? It's becoz I didn't eat any heavy meals since my last Nasi berlauk the day before. Only now, 5.45pm++ today am I only eating rice again. I'm so damn hungry man. Anyway, I'm heading over to the ward again tonight to see my new patient's progress. Docs planned a Lower Segment Caesarean Section tomorrow due to her baby's breech (songsang) presentation.

So, catch up witcha later!
