V-day Y-night

Dear Blog,

Dina had 2 extra tickets from Hot Magazine to watch Valentine's Day before the big premiere at Cathay, Cineleisure @ e-Curve. 2 people popped in my mind other than family to invite - one of which was my good friend Anip, whose been sticking by me through thick and thin...and the other, someone I dare not mention and whom of which I had no guts to even ask...lol.

So with luck, Anip was going back to Sunway from Kuantan yesterday evening, which was perfect coz the movie started at 9.15pm. I picked him up at the bus stop and we zoomed off!

It was fun, catching up with him and stuff.

.Valentine's Day.

Didn't really have that lovey-dovey feel, prolly coz it's not V-day. In a nutshell, the movie is your typical romantic-comedy. The only difference is this one's got a "humunggo" ensemble of A-list celebs from good 'ol woods from the Holly. (of varying generations too! from Hector Elizondo of Princess Diaries, Shirley MacLaine of Bewitched, to the mid-aged celebs such as Julia Roberts, Queen Latifah, the hot-of-the-ton Jessica Alba, Patrick Dempsey, Jennifer Garner, the steamy Eric Dane...and the younger gens of Anne Hathaway, Tay-Tay and Emma Roberts. I seriously can't name all of em...ramai sangat)

I find it weird how Bradley Cooper keeps playing these kinda genres. I mean, I love him and I think he's such a charming guy with a million dollar smile and all, but, Dude~ Seriously? Spread your wings and try something different, okay?

The movie is totally full of people, connected some way in the same circle (kinda reminds me of He's Just Not That Into You, another movie B-Coop is in). Only...this one's got more characters and couples. Which, is fine coz it is Valentine's Day. It's also interesting that all this happens in just one day, Feb 14th. This film is definitely comedy-packed coz Anip couldn't stop laughing out loud beside me..lol. My ears hurt dude.

So, if you're in the mood for comedy (to me, this movie was more comedy than romantic. it's totally not a Notebook thing) on V-day...try this one for size. It's not bad really, just not THAT good either. I would definitely find it just so-so if I were to watch it alone. So, grab some friends along if you're considering to watch this one peepz!

I guess it's good that they didn't wanna portray an emo-mushy-lovey-dovey script, but at the end of the day...I had trouble remembering the names of the characters (ramai gila). And about romantic-comedies, I would expect scenes and scripts that I could go all "awwww" or "that was so sweet" to my friends or to myself before I go to sleep...but, I didn't get that sorta reaction at the end. All I remember saying was, "Tay-Tay's characters were sooo funny!". Also, I usually enjoy picking the best, cutest or sweetest couples...I hadn't picked any from this movie. Prolly coz there were too many and not enough time to see their chemistry together. But, if I were forced to pick one...I'd say B-Coop and Julia Roberts had a bit of a flare.

Btw, Anip gave me flowers! Such a sweetheart. He said that since we're watching a V-day movie, why not go all out? lol. And they matched my purple top last night too.

.all's fair in love and war, l e n a.
