music night

Dear Blog,

Helped my mom's friend - Aunty Sue, promote her 2-week old bakery/coffee shop. Both Leanna and I volunteered to help since business had been pretty slow lately. Since that apartment (Casa Tiara) is packed with foreigners...what better way to attract them other than LIVE MUSIC, right?

And we guessed right. The majority of our crowd last night were white people, some chinese and pinoys too. They were really cool and sporting. Both Leanna and I were nervous coz we didn't really have the time to practice, so we just gave all we got. We performed 9 out of 11 songs, 2 were scratched off the list coz we weren't that confident and not really ready to make a fool of ourselves in public.

Our track list last night:

  1. Paramore - Only Exception
  2. The Fugees - Killing Me Softly
  3. Yuna - Dan Sebenarnya
  4. Madonna - One More Chance
  5. Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight
  6. The Beatles - I Wanna Hold Your Hand
  7. The Corrs - What Can I Do
  8. The Cranberries - Animal Instinct
  9. Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me

This event is going to be held every Friday night from now on, at Casa Tiara (near Carrefour Subang) from 9pm to 11pm. Come with an empty stomach coz you wouldn't wanna miss being blown away by Aunty Sue's delicious special recipe Cotlet (a mixture of beef, potatoes, eggs, onions, tomato), her famous Spaghetti, my personal favorite - the Baked Beans and her signature Iranian tea (made from real tea leaves straight from Iran).

Aunty Sue wants different performances every week if possible, and after last night, I think that would be my first and last coz it was too tiring. We're not even professional singers so our breathing technique was wayyyy off. I was out of breath after our 3rd song..whoah. 9 songs?? That's like almost a whole concert, LOL.

But I'm glad the crowd enjoyed our performance. They said they wanted to come again next week. Yay!

Btw, met a cute Canadian guy. He also played a few songs last night, wonderful voice and very, very talented with the guitar. Kinda chinese looking too. His name is Randy, he's a young lecturer at Taylor's College and a resident there at Casa Tiara. Hope he comes again next week *wink* hahaa
