dancing with the stars

Dear Blog,

On the way back to Subang from Segamat, sat at the back seat behind the passenger seat listening to Britney Spears (because we were riding in Jenna's car and her rule is "no matter who drives the car, no one touches the radio!"). Listening to Brit's old, old songs kinda brought back memories...mostly...school...about karaoke...about how a fanatic my friend - Amzar is towards the Britster...and DANCING! God, Britney's such an awesome dancer. No wonder my sister looks up to her (minus the Britney mess, and seeing her "Britney" all over the press. hey, that rhymes!)

So, while multitasking, my eyes drifted outside the window towards the sky...

I've never seen a night so beautiful. The Waxing Crescent and a single bright, shining star hovering nearby (i'm guessing that it is a star? or maybe some other planet?). There were a lot more stars splayed across the sky...they were everywhere, but just that one was really, really bright. I wasn't able to snap a photo of the moon and that prominent star just now, so I googled this picture a few moments ago (i know, how lame can i get?). Apparently, it could've been Jupiter? But, what do I know? I'm just an ignorant, medical student who cares about nothing else other than what's going on in my life.

Anyway, when I looked at the night sky...I realized, I've never really "look" looked at the sky. It's so beautiful. I felt as though I wanted to write a poem about it (i suddenly felt poetic), and I felt as though I wanted to either paint or sketch the whole sky (suddenly artistic?). I suddenly wanted to go somewhere and maybe pack a picnic basket and enjoy the beautiful sight while stuffing my gut with some delicious kuih raya. Either way, the moment just had to be captured.

Another thing I realized, people nowadays are just too busy with their lives, jobs and internet social networking that they take their surroundings for granted. Do they forget that the moon illuminates the night, otherwise leaving us in total darkness? (yeah, i know. God invented electricity..yada-yada-yada..and now we have street lamps. but you know what i mean). After seeing what I saw, I felt relaxed. I've been so tensed about my finals coming up, that my mind wanders everytime I'm doing something. But, relaxed I was...and now I'm blogging about it...LOL.

Owh, it's getting late...gotta sleep. Heard news that Ombai isn't feeling well and that Daddy has to fly off to Jakarta and go see her. She's in the ICU and requires blood transfusion. My guess is her heart ain't pumping right, so she's experiencing hypovolaemia and her other organs are hypoperfused. Hence, ICU admission? We don't really know what's going on, so that's why Daddy's going over there. I hope she's OK...it's Raya, she should be at home with her family, not in the hospital =( Get Well Soon Ombai!

Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin everyone!

.l e n a, out!.
