I'm sorry, I just can't take it anymore. This Digital Single-Lens Reflex camera a.k.a DSLR trend is really, really painful to bear. Everywhere I go, I see all these people with their cameras hanging down from their necks and stuff. Like, what's up with that? Is everyone so rich nowadays that they think compact cams are so 5 minutes ago? I'm not saying that if you have the talent or interest that you shouldn't pursue this, all i'm saying is it's sooo overrated.
I used to find it interesting, how one captures a specific moment or scenery in one single snapshot. Capturing not only the people, objects or landscapes in it but also feelings, emotions or any sort of meaning just within that moment. It's totally awesome.
I often visit flickr, a website for all 'em talented rookies, experienced and professional photographers out there. They can sign up and upload all their pics there, and receive comments and advice from people all over the world.
The downside about all this is, there will always be a beginning of a new trend for posers. That's right, flaunt your cameras people. But, there's only a few of you people out there that really have the X factor and THAT, is what makes people want more from you.
Let the viewer not only see, but feel what you're capturing. Not only should you capture, but also portray what it is you're capturing in a very interesting perspective. Anyway, sure I can talk crap about all this but taking photos isn't really that easy. Trust me, I know. But I am indeed interested in knowing and learning about all this, what's a lil extra knowledge right?

yeah...betol farah...i think DSLR tuh dh mcm satu trend...pelik..i started maen slr, for hobbies n own fun 2years back...pakai filem ag ms tuh, pinjam kwn nye..mane de digital..takdelah plak org sibuk2 nak men slr tuh ha..tbe2 skrg mcm sumer org pakai...and ms tuh jgak lomography pon best..hee..ske fish eye!
im not so lucky sbb takde duit ms tuh, and u know my family condition ms tuh..u know..ape yg i cter kat u about hidup susah all sorta things..so i tak mampu nak dpt 1..tp skrg, alhamdulillah, boleh dh..tp saket ati sbb tbe2 mende tuh jd trend..and sumer org nak dslr..bkn sbb dh lm pkai, tp sbb trend..mcm an "it" thing plak dh..tak special rsnye nak amik gmbr dh sbb sumer org pkai..huhu..we see...smpai ble trend nh thn..yg btol2 minat akan thn smpai ble2..yg tak, p babai lah! and one thing, i realized org yg pkai dslr nh, bkn nye reti sgt pasal all those lenses, bracketting thingy tuh...maen amik pkai auto mode jer pun..huh! wth?! saje nak tunjuk kot..
oh yeah..my friend, afif, die pandai amik gmbr..got to flicker..lurkernation photo stream..lawa2 gmbr die..and i tggu die balek next summer nak berguru ngan die..so much i need to learn..dslr, i still amatur..boleh2 jer, byk kene blaja..tp afif ckp it's better to experiment it on ur own..maen2 ngan mode and amik gmbr byk2...slr pkai filem..i reti la jgak..hehe.. :)
lol..interesting. i pun dah lame minat kat slr, but nvr had da opportunity 2 try it.. let alone, know that it's actually called slr (haha)
there are ups and downs about trends..the bad thing is it's overrated.. so the interest dies when everyone has one. the good thing is, people are more exposed to it. all this depends on how society perceives this sudden upbringing-of-a-hobby, to see whether people are liking it because it's only a "trend".. OR that many people had suddenly found their creative-selves.
one thing's for sure, i'm betting with sarah that they'll prolly make dslr in variety of colours, not just black anymore. wanna join the bet?? hahaha
