Dear Blog, (attention: readers, be advised. Due to this entry's graphic and gory content, those with a faint heart or severe geli-ness towards blood is required to stop reading now)
After last week's sprain, i figured "ok, Nothing could be worse than this".
How dumb.
2 weeks ago, i cracked my big toenail while playing futsal. 2 days ago, the crack became a partial detachment thanks to badminton. So, like one of the 4 indications of amputation..this 'subluxed' nail has become a 'damn nuisance'. I decided, "hey, since its only partially attached..why don't I just pull the damn thing off completely?"
A few minutes after extreme, excrutiating pain..I realized how stupid of me to even think of such a notion.
Have you ever had your own nail pulled off from its nailbed? Or lemme put it this way, would you like to know how it would feel like if I were to peel off your skin from your body?
The funny part was, it was pretty fruitless coz I only managed to pull the proximal end of the nail, whereas distally it was still stuck on its floor and skin. Then, I started to bleed. It was a hard realization knowing that I might've made a mistake by not going for my friends' suggestion, which was perhaps the most logical, which was to go see the doctor, have them inject a local anaesthesia and pull that damn nail with me being pain-free.
It was prolly too late to say 'i shudda this, i shudda that', so I convinced myself to just finish the job.
I knew how painful it was to tear that nail off, so I wasn't able to inflict that kinda pain on myself. Therefore, I was given the thought that if I wasn't brave enough, maybe my friends were. Unfortunately, none of them could help. It was either too gory, or they didn't wanna hurt me. I understand, I don't think I could do it to a friend either.
So, I waited for the sharp and throbbing pain to subside to proceed with my second (hopefully final) attempt.
I am a coward to pain. I didn't wanna pull it off.. Too painful! So, I figured out an alternative.
After numerous times of twisting and loosening it's attachment, I finally suceeded! It was one of the greatest triumphs I've ever had over pain.
Would I ever do it again should this incident repeat?
HELL NO!
