i smell gold!

Alhamdulillah!

UKM's women's futsal team won 1st place against some of the other Medical Universities in M'sia.

Even though we lost that first game...but, somehow it became a motivation...to win EVERY OTHER GAME. hahahahaha

Yep. We won against all the other Universities after that...itu pun, the reason we lost that one game was because of a slight error in not knowing the right rules.

Not many Universities had representatives so there were only 2 big groups (A and B). But, hey...this was the toughest Inter-varsity game I have ever played. Especially against AIMST B during the semi-finals. I could feel the tension in the air. Their supporters were not only supporting their team, but also dissing ours which was totally uncalled for. We had no supporters (as usual. you think guys from my university would come and support us? it's like they don't even exist) so that made things worse. Owh, we did have Temoh's friend - Parem from Cyberjaya. She gave moral support and help take pictures, thanks! =)

Group A:

2. AIMST B (the most intense game i've ever played)

The different plans were actually great coz our opponents couldn't really fathom our gameplay, so we had the upper hand. Plus, everyone is capable of shooting well in our team. Therefore, marking one or two of our players or strikers don't necessarily mean you're giving resistance to our offense.

Our gameplay:

• one keeper that's always alert
• one awesome, impenetrable defender
• one midfielder that can run up and down the court no matter what
• two strikers with outstanding chemistry

The gameplay varies however, according to the players in the field and their stamina.

All in all...it was the coolest game ever. I came to the tournament with hopes of great exercise and but never expected to bring home the GOLD.

 I'm so proud of our team. Every single one of us contributed and played really, really well. Every other team had many substitute players, whilst ours had only 7 people. It was damn tiring, from 8.30am to 5.30pm with the hot sun burning our skins and the lack of water to rehydrate. Our team barely ate lunch, coz we knew that would've slowed us down. But, seriously, the sun was really too hot to handle.

Even though most of the original team members couldn't make it to the tournament coz we're actually having our holidays, I think we did exceptionally well! Each and every one of us deserves a pat on the back =)
