meddling medal

Dear Blog,

Went to see Shida just now, at the cafe outside PPUKM. She text me this morning telling me she wanted to give me something. That something...was our medal from winning 3rd place for Handball last week for the KTHO OPEN Handball tourney.

Last week, I joined KTDI's netball team for SUKEM so I went to Bangi lah. There, I met with my ex-handball teammates and MASUM players. I asked them, "apa korang buat kat sini? SUKEM ke?". Za, KTSN's handball captain told me that they have Kolej Tun Hussein Onn's (KTHO) OPEN Handball tournament that day. I told them to tell me when they'll be playing coz I wanted to go watch and root for them.

After losing a netball match, I went over to the Handball field and talked to some friends for awhile. I even joined their training (run some laps, throw some balls. semangat gila kan?). Then, they invited me to play with them.

I was like, hello??...segan kot. It's been awhile since I've played Handball, I'm afraid I might be a bit rusty. Za offered her jersey while she wore a bip. So, I took her number 5 while she wore number 17 (i think). That was so nice of them to let me play. So, they told me to go register my name at the khemah urusetia and I met up with the MASUM guys team and they were like..."aik?" lol. Sham - captain for UKM MASUM Handball since as far back as I can remember, greeted me and gave that "welcome back" feel. They asked what I was doing there. I told them I had netball, and decided to join play handball too..lol.

Adrenaline-pumped blood...but nervous as hell.

I spent more time with the handballers than I did the netball team (consisted of all UNPAD students. not that i didn't fit in, just that i didn't know what to say to them). That day, I moved alternately between handball and netball. It was pretty tiring...but I felt lucky coz I got the best of both worlds that day - both friends of my pre-clinical and clinical years.

We (KTDI) lost all matches for netball that day. The handball team lost against UM and UPSI but we managed to get 3rd place coz won against the rest. Yay!!

Even though I didn't play 1st string, I still had fun. I miss handball. I was right though, I was rusty. I played like a fool...haihh. Disappointed.

Miss you guys! Look at us..all dark and stuff. That day panas gila. Good thing the jersey was white.
