GREETINGS earthlings!
I just listened to one of the most beautiful songs ever written and created (for me that is). It makes me feel superb! So, it got me thinking. What is it about music that makes you think and feel? Is music some form of hypnotism that entrances us normal people into feeling all sorts of emotions? Is it the combination of melodies? The lyrics? The delicious voice singing it? I would really like to know. Because the song that I am referring to is actually and oldies that was recently re-created by Michael Buble. A song called "Me and Mrs. Jones". I don't know what it is about that song that just makes me feel so wonderful inside. Like I told Leanna and Jenna a few days ago, "This song makes me feel beautiful and sexy" haha. I know, what a joke right? But, truth be told I do feel that way. I felt that way then, i'll feel it again the next time I hear it. And I will DEFINITELY experience the same emotions again and again until I finally get bored of the song and hop to another song that might initiate a different sentiment.
For me however, the sensation I felt for the song Me and Mrs. Jones probably wouldn't have anything to do with the lyrics. That's because it's about these two people (Buble and Mrs. Jones) having an affair, both of which are currently in a relationship. (Buble with his lady, Mrs. Jones with her Mr. Jones) They meet everyday at the same cafe at 6.30pm discretely, without each of their partners knowing (Hence the word 'affair' - Duh!).This song is morally wrong, but the passionate sensation is very, VERY good. Somehow I can actually sense their bond, chemistry and attraction to one another when I listen to it. The plot I imagined is also interesting. I envisioned the '50-'60s great American era. I see a very conservative, ladylike, proper fashion sense for Mrs. Jones. No short skirts. Gloves for evening and social occasions. Petticoats and girdles. Hats. (maybe the infamous Jackie Kennedy pillbox hat with netting or veils) all that.
Anyway, there's only one word to describe Michael Buble's version...D-licious! haha. For those of you who have self-esteem problems, I recommend this song. LOL! Alright, that's it for now. l e n a out! =D
